“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”– Maya Angelou
– New relationships
– Career changes
Sometimes it seems that everyone else handles what life throws at them with ease and grace– that we’re the only ones struggling to make sense of major change. And we tend to forget that all types of change can be overwhelming, even the good kind. Many women who’ve come to the Center have expressed feeling alone in their struggle to adapt. They’re left with a feeling of shame and isolation, wondering “What is wrong with me that I can’t handle these ‘normal’ life events?”
We’ve all faced the challenge of transitioning to a new phase in our life; no one is immune to that. But sometimes you need some extra support– someone in your corner to coach you. We can help you to understand your new experience, remind you that there’s nothing wrong with needing guidance, and learn new coping skills to get you through the tough parts.
