For Halloween this year I dressed up as a Lady Boss and had the pleasure of speaking on a panel for the At the Helm: Women in Biz Conference in Los Angeles. The event brought together female entrepreneurs from all different aspects of business to speak to young budding entrepreneurs on management, finance, legal, and marketing. I had the pleasure to speak on the topic of being a Lady Boss and how being one comes with its own unique challenges and unique strengths. I was also able to touch on feeling like a fraud as a Lady Boss and how to overcome those feelings of inadequacy to be the leader you want to be. Oh and while on the panel I made up a new word, Triggle, it’s the cross between a trickle and a dribble.
This event was incredibly rewarding for me personally since in my journey as an entrepreneur I’ve had the amazing fortune to have strong, insightful, and caring role models, mentors, and advisers. Without whom I would not be the person I am today, and I would not have the business I have today. It is important for me to give back to other young entrepreneurs especially female entrepreneurs. As ladies we have come such a long way but there are still many obstacles that we face especially in the boys clubs that we can encounter as entrepreneurs. My goal is to help as many women reach their goals both personally and professionally.
So check out my fabulous Lady Boss outfit and let me know what you think!
